Logitech webcam cameras are probably the most popular type of external webcam in use. If you want some advice on which one to buy for Zoom and Teams business meetings, I wrote a detailed review of the different criteria you should use and what I recommend. If you don’t want to read the details and just want my recommendation, I recommend the Logitech C920S.
Once you have a Logitech webcam camera installed, you will want to get software from Logitech that will help you make the most of the camera. The current (as of August 2022) best option is the LogiTune app for Windows or Mac. You can download this app from Logitech’s website; don’t download it from other sites that may be trying to attack your computer. The article shows you how to use the zoom feature on the camera to show more of you and less of the background in meetings.
You will see references on the Internet to the Logitech Capture app but it is no longer being developed by Logitech and should not be used. The replacement for the Capture app is the Logitech G Hub app which is an app for gamers. It is much more complex and is not primarily aimed at business users.
What about external software that works with Logitech webcams? Yes, there are apps made by third-party vendors that can control a Logitech webcam. Software such as OBS gives you a lot of control over webcams but is complex and takes time to learn. It also sets up its own webcam feed that can cause the video and audio in a meeting to be out of sync. To keep things simple I recommend sticking with the Logi Tune app from Logitech.
