Linking Excel Data to Your PowerPoint Slides

Some reports suggest that a majority of PowerPoint slides that use Excel data are created by rekeying the information from Excel.  What a huge waste of your time!  If you update PowerPoint slides with monthly data such as performance data, benchmark numbers or key indicator figures, you can save hours each month by linking your Excel data to your PowerPoint slides.  But I bet they haven't showed you how to make these links that could have you going home hours earlier at month end.

The end of this wasteful cycle is the day you watch the video of a sold-out live web tutorial I recorded.  Mark it in your calendar as the day you started to get your time back for more useful pursuits than rekeying.  On this video training session you will learn:

  • How to save hours each month updating PowerPoint slides with Excel data.
  • The three types of Excel data that you can link to PowerPoint and when you will want to use each type to get exactly the slide you (or your boss) wants.
  • To eliminate rekeying errors and save yourself huge amounts of grief caused when incorrect slides get sent to the field or a client.
  • How to set up your Excel spreadsheet to stop wasting time rekeying in Excel because you need to get the data in a different display format.
  • How to protect cells in a worksheet so that data entry errors can be quickly isolated and corrected.
  • How to link your Excel data to Word or Publisher to create customized handouts that accompany your presentation.

My name is Dave Paradi and I am an expert who helps people create and deliver PowerPoint presentations that get results. I have helped people cut hours off their monthly updating tasks when working with Excel and PowerPoint and I have figured out how to make it work. You will be learning from someone who knows what he is talking about. I am also the co-author of "Guide to PowerPoint" from Prentice Hall.

In this unique recording, you will see my desktop in your browser on your computer so you can see what I am doing on your own screen and you will listen to me explain everything I am doing.  You can pause the recording at any time and go to Excel or PowerPoint and try the steps yourself.  Or rewind to review a section again.  I use plain Excel and PowerPoint – no add-ins, extra programs or plug-ins that you have to buy. That way, you can actually use the information I share without having to purchase some special tools.

If you wanted to hire me to sit with you for an hour and go through this and record everything I did, it would cost hundreds of dollars. But through the power of technology, I am able to keep the cost down and offer it to you at the low price of $87! I want as many people as possible to benefit from this information, so I am keeping the price low.

It runs for one full hour – and I guarantee it will be full of great ideas and tips you will be able to use that same day. I am known for packing tons of information in to all of my seminars and products, so be prepared.
