How to get one-on-one personal
consulting to
dramatically improve your PowerPoint presentations – in 90 minutes from
the comfort of your office
None of us have the time to do everything on our “would-love-to-do”
list. We are too busy preparing tomorrow’s presentation to be
able to take time to attend a course or read a book on how to improve
our presentations. And besides, those courses and books deal
with generic situations, not the real world you live in.
I’m here to help with a new personal consulting service that gives you
the customized one-on-one attention you are looking for in 90 minutes
while you sit in your office. I am now taking a
select number
of appointments to help presenters make a significant improvement in
their slides and their skills. Here's an example of the
improvement you can make.

This is how
it works.
You contact me and we book a date and time that works for you.
Then you send me some slides you want to improve.
If there are skills you know you need to learn in order to be
more effective, send that list too. I'll show you how to
improve
your slides and teach you the skills to be able to create your own
great slides. All while you sit in your office because we use
the
power of web conferencing technology.
By having a
one-to-one session, we
can cover exactly what you want
without distractions of others asking questions or trying
to cover
pre-set material as would happen in a live or web-based public training
session. The issues we cover are specific to your situation,
not generic industry examples or generic role examples used in public
training sessions. You ask questions whenever you want to,
you don’t have to wait for a break in a pre-set program. You
are in control of what we cover, how quickly we cover it and where you
want to go into more depth.

Our meeting is via
web conference so it is
just like you are sitting
beside me at my desk and I show you what works on your
slides and what
could be improved. Then I demonstrate exactly how to make the
changes in the version of PowerPoint you use (2003 or 2007).
After we are done our 90 minutes together, you’ll get a video of the
entire session that you can use to review what we covered at any time.
If you wonder whether one-on-one help works, let me share this recent example
in the form of a case study.
Situation:
A presenter needed help making her slides stand out. She was
presenting to over 5,000 people in dozens of sessions to sell them on
getting on board with a very important initiative. If this
presentation worked, it would allow her to take a major step in her
career.
The Problem:
Her
slides were text heavy, the animation was distracting, there were very
few visuals, the slide layout was inconsistent and the template was too
busy.
The Solution:
I
cleaned up the template, brought consistency to the placement of text
and logos, introduced visuals that would help participants understand
and remember the key messages and pared back the animation to only
those that added to the message. She was in Vancouver and I
was
thousands of miles away in my office, but the power of web meeting
technology allowed her to be sitting beside me as we reviewed the ideas
and made the changes.
The Result:
She kept saying “Brilliant!” every time she saw the new
slides.
And when the participants were asked what level of excitement was
generated by her presentation, almost everyone gave her five out of
five! She couldn’t be happier.
Since we use your own
slides as examples, you will immediately see the
changes being made and get excited about how much better your next
presentation will be. You’ll also see exactly how I make the
changes, so you’ll know techniques that you can use to improve other
slides in the future. This is totally customized to the
information you present.
Advice is great, but
only if you know who that advice is coming from. If you
aren’t familiar with my work, let me explain why you can trust me to
help you improve your slides. I am one of North America’s
acknowledged experts in communicating effectively using
PowerPoint. My book, The
Visual Slide
Revolution, was
named
as one of the Top 10 Business Books of 2008 by Canada’s leading
national business newspaper. I have presented keynotes at two
PowerPoint Live conferences, I have spoken all over North America and I
consulted on a presentation used to brief one of President Obama’s
cabinet ministers.
You may be
wondering why I am making time to offer personalized sessions with
individual presenters. Most people who call me
are surprised that I answer my own phone. You see, they
figure that with my busy writing and speaking schedule, I won’t have
time to take a phone call. I’m busy just like you are, but I
want to help as many presenters as possible be successful.
You may not be able to bring me in to speak to your organization, but
now I can be right
in your office giving you personal help.
We meet using a web meeting service that I arrange.
It is one
of the largest services around, so the technology is stable and it
works well. All you need to connect is a browser.
The service will install a small applet to allow you to securely see my
screen. Don’t worry, the applet is easy to install and almost
every corporate IT department allows it. Then, for the audio,
I call you on your direct line. That’s right, I pay for the
call. Why? Because I want this to be as easy and
affordable as possible for you.
Is 90 minutes really enough? For most people, it will
be. You see, in
90 minutes of focused work, we can cover a
lot of ground. We don’t have the distractions of
larger
groups or sessions. You can learn what you need and be able
to apply it immediately to make a positive difference in the
presentations you deliver.
Here’s another case study that shows how my
ideas are used by presenters years later.
Situation:
A keynote speaker needed to use visuals to convey his message instead
of the endless slides full of bullet points that he had been
using. His impact, and income, depended on effectively
communicating his message of positive change.
The Solution:
On a web meeting, we transformed his bullet points into graphs and
other visuals that make his points so much clearer. He used
the
new slides the next day and the positive reaction was immediately
evident.
Two and a half
years later:
This speaker addressed a conference I attended and was still
effectively using the graphs to make his points. He learned
how
to update the data with the latest research and now creates his own
slides. Since the crowd that day knew me, he mentioned that
the
effective visuals were the result of our work together over two years
earlier.
It doesn’t matter whether you have PowerPoint 2003 or 2007, because I
have both on my computer and I will use whichever version you use to
demonstrate the techniques to use to create
your own persuasive visuals. And remember, after the session
is done, you’ll get a
full video recording of the entire session so you
can review anything I showed you at your leisure and in
the comfort of
your office or home.
"Dave,
the money I spent with you for the two hours of webinar/PowerPoint
training was some of the best money I’ve ever spent for training in my
19 years in the business. Thanks so much for all your great tips. I
couldn’t have done it without you."

"Dave,
you took my basic presentation, inserted video clips and taught
me 3 stellar techniques to escalate it to a polished, professional
presentation. Thank you for your help. You are fast, supportive and
great to work with. Well done."

I
want to make this as affordable as possible for many of you, so I’m
offering this customized 90 minute
personal coaching session for only $299. That’s
far less than
you’d pay to take an entire day out of your busy schedule to attend a
generic training course that wouldn’t give the focused attention of
this 90 minute web coaching session.
To get started, click
here to let me know you are interested.
I’ll get in contact with you and
we’ll set
up the date and time for our session. We’ll also arrange for
any slides to be sent to me and your list of specific topics you want
to cover. Because of my writing and speaking schedule, there
are only limited appointments available each month, so don’t delay, e-mail
me today and look forward to
better presentations in the second quarter of 2010.
